SUSTAIN\\\INITIATIVES

Allen Sovory II is a musician and entrepreneur with a desire to make the world a better place. He has worked with legendary musicians, artists and business people around the world, earning their respect and friendship by consistently bringing to his projects a renaissance man’s point of view and a willingness to do the hard work needed to create excellence.

As a producer Allen has worked on projects with Disney, 20th Century Fox and Eric Clapton; he spent almost a decade touring with Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow and Brian Adams. His songs and productions have been featured in blockbuster movies and on soundtracks such as The Fan, Blue Crush and Jason's Lyric, for which he received his first platinum award.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

About three years ago, Allen formed the SUSTAIN\\\INITIATIVES team to find ways to connect South Los Angeles to the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) market. Their research lead them to the creation of SUSTAIN///S,LA, a three-phase business initiative designed to garner profits and act as a catalyst to inspire, motivate, and transform the South Los Angeles community. We are working with The Grove to raise money for Phase One > Chef A.J. in the Hood.

Chef A.J. in the Hood is a web-based vegan cooking show starring African-American chef Ayana Johnson. This show blends the reality, cooking, and talk show formats into a unique and entertaining learning experience. Local guests from the South Los Angeles community will bring favorite traditional dishes to Chef A.J. who, with a little bit of attitude and a lotta love, will create a new, healthier version. Our target audience is broad. Women between the ages of 25 and 45 will enjoy learning how to make tasty, healthy food for their families. Older audiences will appreciate learning the many benefits of a healthy lifestyle that enhances their quality of life.

Chef A.J. in the Hood will be filmed at LADC Studios in South Los Angeles.
